We had our first snow a couple of weeks ago. By the time we got back to Brooklyn it had melted.

Last week we had a 60 degree day. I was walking by a market and saw these and decided to buy them.  Tomorrow and Wednesday are going to be in the upper 50′s! Is it really the end of January???

Just back from my trip down south. Santa left this under the tree for me! I will be making a roast later for dinner. The holiday was filled with lots of baking, cooking, and spending time with family. We are driving upstate this evening for the long weekend. Have a happy new year!

We spent Thanksgiving upstate this year. It was the first Thanksgiving that was virtually stress free! We had six people including ourselves. In the past we would invite way too many people for our small house. This was so much better! I actually got to sit and relax.

We spent four days, and four nights. It was like a mini vacation. We decided to drive back to Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday. There was hardly any traffic, and there was plenty of parking on our block. I will have fond memories of this holiday always.

Yesterday was my birthday. It was a beautiful sparkly day. I had dinner with friends and cupcakes afterward.

It was the first time that I have baked in six months. I enjoyed it, and they were delicious.

We’ve been making some small improvements to our little Brooklyn apartment. This is one side of where there was once a fireplace. It has always bugged me. We decided to build some book shelves to fill the space.

The other side is much wider. This is where my desk is. Forgive the mess of wires underneath.

Now I need to find some things to fill them!
